History
Behind The Scenes
A melodic deathcore band based in Phoenix, AZ, consisting of Dajean Bell and Alex Prince (guitars), Michael Fiorino (bass), Aaron Hale (drums), and Michael Coleman (vocals). The band’s sound is influenced by various death metal moguls from The Black Dahlia Murder and GOROD, to deathcore classics including Veil of Maya and As Blood Runs Black.
The original lineup (with Victor Cabrera on vocals and Oscar Corrales on bass) met collectively in college and soon after began writing music in early 2013 which quickly generated buzz throughout the Phoenix metal scene. From the beginning of their first release in January 2016, “The Exiled Martyr EP,” the band received praise by reviewers and metal enthusiasts, which was swiftly bolstered by their followup debut LP "Stagnant Waters Breed Life" in August of the same year. With releases in quick succession and a foundation of their sound solidly set, the band proved their staying power and drive to produce metal for the world to sink its teeth into.
Shortly after the release of the album, frontman and vocalist Anthony Esposito (ex Hounds of Tindalos, Alterra) joined as a full time member in place of Cabrera. In the interim year between releases, Oscar Corrales stepped down as the bassist and Michael Fiorino (ex A Lapse of Ethos) filled the position shortly after. With the lineup completed, the EP “Insight” released in fall of 2018. Accompanied with a music video and three playthrough videos, TEM was rewarded with the successor to their LP, receiving praise from The Circle Pit and continuing to reach newer fans and gaining further attention.
In spring of 2019, TEM released a new single "Delusions of the Contrite” premiered with a music video, and set out on tour from the deserts of Arizona across the Midwest and into the South alongside their fellow Phoenix death metal outfit, “I, Pariah.” After their return, TEM began work on a new EP "Novum Finem,” exploring elements of tying the music and lyrics into an overarching concept and continuing with their defined sound but taken to the next level with ornamentation of orchestral embellishment and refined composition. The EP released in the summer of 2020.
In spring of 2022, Anthony Esposito stepped down as the vocalist. Michael Coleman began as a fill in and eventually became the permanent vocalist moving forward. Carrion Crown was released on October of 2023 along side a music video cementing Coleman's place with the band. The band eagerly began writing more ready to release new music in 2025.
